OCTOBER

10/7/2017 – ROCK ROUND THE CLOCK CAR SHOW  IN WINNSBORO.  The Cornwallis Tea House has again agreed to serve us a light brunch when we get to Winnsboro, before all the festivities begin. Wally and Sonya will lead the parade. Management asked us to wait until about 2 weeks before the event to contact them again, with numbers of attendees. Winnsboro is neck deep in Eclipse plans, like Columbia is, and would like to wait until mid to late September to make more ‘Rock Around The Clock’ plans.

Fred and Betty will be looking into hotel reservations for Friday evening for those that would like to sleep late on Saturday.

The Saturday morning route and time of Columbia departure will be announced soon. Last year we traveled US 321, we might try highway US 215 or stick with US 321.  Watch your e-mail for more info.  Also for motel information if you’d like to go Friday evening for the early festivities and be early for Saturday fun.

The website for car show registration and other details is fchamber02@truvista.net  You can get an application and more information here.

  4. Next stop is Plums Restaurant in Beaufort on the Beaufort waterfront. Should arrive about 12:30 for lunch.  We will arrange to be seated on the porch overlooking the river.  Drive time approx. 30 minutes.

  6. You may check into the COUNTRY INN around 4PM. (map provided)
  7. Donna and Ed Stanfield will be trying to make arrangements with a local restaurant for an evening group dinner.  It is difficult to make group reservations in Beaufort so this might be “last minute” event.
  8. We start Saturday with the buffet at the hotel. Donna and Ed will have planned activities for the day. Hunting Island is a destination for the afternoon leading up to the cook out on Fripp Island.
  9. Time for a light lunch at a local restaurant might be possible time permitting. The Hotel provides a buffet breakfast.
  10. Then on to Fripp Island for a cookout. Arrival time is anytime after 3:30 but expected no later than 5 PM. If you arrive early you can enjoy one of the finest beach anywhere on the east coast.
