Is anyone interested in buying a Magnette restoration project? I dream of restoring the car, but at 74 years old and with three projects in front of it, I sometimes get the feeling that the chances of ever finishing it are slim. Here are some details:
1957 MG ZB Varitone
Burgundy and Black
Car has been largely disassembled
Engine is professionally rebuilt, painted, detailed, etc.
A little rust in the rocker panels.
One half-dollar size rust hole in the pedal box area
Rust hole on L.H. side of back seat bottom panel where shock attaches
All parts boxed up and labeled
New set of unrefinished wood dashboard parts purchased from Jeff Powell in Chicago
Two sets of used seats, seat skins, etc. from a Magnette owner in Florence, Ore.
Magnette transmission and MGA transmission
MGA block that was originally in the car
Octagon-shaped gauges restored by Nissinger’s at a cost of well over $1,000
Miscellaneous new parts purchased on eBay and at swap meets
Hardcover looseleaf shop manual and factory sales literature
Car is in Central Wisconsin
Car was $3,000; engine rebuild was $2,800; Nissinger gauge repair was $1,000 so Asking $6,800 (other stuff free I guess)
